Here is a story worth sharing to show the kind of man Percy was. In the early 1940's my parents lived in Hazendal and in the evening they would take the train to buy the evening newspaper at the next station. No TV in those days. Only crackling wireless sets. When they returned home one evening their house was bare, Everything had been stolen. Not long thereafter Percy Twine arrived unannounced and gave my mother 280 pounds. In those days that was a lot of money. Her first response was we cannot afford to pay this amount back. Percy replied, "Did I ask you to pay it back? It is a gift," And that was the end of that. They were able to set up home again thanks to his generous spirit. - Michael Lilley
